That contact person will be responsible for making sure that the handling of your business with us is co-ordinated and that you do not have to approach several different offices.
We will be pleased to arrange for a "reception" meeting at which you can meet all the departments involved so that you to talk through all aspects of your needs in a single meeting. This can be done in about an hour or two hours depending on the issues involved.
If more detailed follow up is required this will be done quickly by one of the people that you have met and talked to. We find that this works well in removing any potential barriers in ‘official? communication and we hope that it will work well again in the handling of your needs.
It is then up to you to choose the location/factory site most suited to your company?s specific requirements and budget.
Our objective as Municipality is to be able to complete the approval process for a building application within 15 working days of the submission of the plans.
If there are any special considerations because of technical requirements or possible waste products/emissions then we would set up the necessary meetings but we shall try to deal with these issues at the reception meeting if at all possible.
In Tierp we have upper-secondary school with courses for adults. We are planning to start an " Open College " in Tierp at the end of this year.
Companies in Tierp are active in both the new economy of the internet and the old economy of manufacture and services. Where appropriate we try to encourage local sourcing, but the decisions are up to companies and we expect that these will always be taken on a "best business" basis.
There are good facilities within the Municipality for IT and IT based companies. If your company is in the food sector then there are special requirements with regard to regulations in " the Food control Act " (Livsmedelslagen)
Manufacturing companies also find good locations and we have excellent communications and transport routes for products going to the rest of Sweden and for export around the world.
The first step by the municipality was to set up a reception meeting, which was held on 29th of February2000. The detailed requirements of the company were talked through with them and they were then able to proceed quickly to find a site.
They set up their new operation in Tierp in September 2000. This timetable reflected the company?s business schedule.
The key thing as far as the company was concerned is that the Municipality did not cause them any delay at any point in the process. All the administrative aspects were handled smoothly. The company also told us that the Tierp response was more positive and quite different from several others that they received from other Municipalities.
We were told that the openness of our response was the main determining factor in their choice of where to come. We hope that you will find the same.
